W Water projects save lives and provide
A adequate water sources for people, animals and crops. They
T - transform communities,
E eradicate disease and improve
R rural health.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO):
- 1.8 million people die each year from diarrheal disease; 90% are children under 5.
- 1.3 million people die each year from malaria; 90% are children under 5.
- In 2002, 1.1 billion people lacked access to improved water sources. This represents 17% of the global population.
In Haiti, many people walk hours to find potable water for drinking and cooking and men, women and children die daily from water-borne diseases. Without water crops deteriorate. Animals thirst. People die.
We need your help. They need your help. We have a list of areas that are waiting for a hand-dug well. Won’t you partner with us in promoting human health and well-being?
If you are interested in helping to provide funds to dig hand-dug wells, please contact ggennis@fmmhaiti.org or click here to learn about our Haiti Extra Mile Projects.

Water is essential for life.
Yet many millions of people around the world face water shortages. Many millions of children die every year from water-borne diseases. And drought regularly afflicts some of the world’s poorest countries. The world needs to respond much better... This is an urgent matter of human development, and human dignity. Together, we can provide safe, clean water to all the world’s people...
