Newsletter

Hey Partners!

You can view our newest newsletter online at the FMWM website. I am not sure how to get it here yet!

We went to the John Wesley FMC this morning. We remember 9 years ago when Jeanne went there with the team from John Wesley FMC in Indianapolis. A gang leader and a couple of others came and threatened the pastor's life if we did not give them money. We could not go back there then. And the gang members were killed the next week. The church in Haiti was sad because they wanted the people to find Jesus Christ.

But this morning we were there with Pastor David Charles. The church is doing very well. Pastor David has been responsible for many young men becoming pastors in the FMC. In our present class, there are 3. Praise God for good leaders in the National Church in Haiti.

A gift was given to the Institut Biblique Methodiste Libre, which allowed us to purchase batteries to help us in the evening. We so appreciate people who help us to keep this vital ministry alive.

Institut Biblique Methodiste Libre

Dottie Miller and the
people of Spring Arbor
FMC made it possible
for the students to have
a study Bible in French!

The fourth and final year for this class of pastoral students begins September 3. Fourteen young men finished a year of internship with some of our churches in Haiti. They had a wide range of learning experiences, from serving on community boards to baptisms!

Monday, the 20th of August, the students will meet at the school to help prepare the facilities for opening day. This is the first time the students have joined in this preparation. It is a good experience for them to invest their energies in this endeavor as well.

Please pray for these students. Some of them gave up their jobs to go to the countryside for their internship. They come back to the city, but their jobs are gone!

Some of the students have families as well as the expense of school.

The school is also looking into the future ... how can the school be more effective in training people to evangelize and disciple people in the whole country? Please pray as plans are being made.

If you would like to help in any way, please write to haitiforchrist@yahoo.com. Your gifts and prayers would be greatly appreciated.
